Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must have the authority to publicly share information and datasets from the proposed program.
  • Dataset(s) must include Florida.
  • Dataset(s) must be related to one or more of the following habitats and indicators:
    • Submerged Aquatic Vegetation - Percent Cover, Acreage;
    • Water Column - Nutrients, Water Quality, Water Clarity, Nekton (fisheries);
    • Coral Reefs - Community Composition, Percent Coral Cover, Grazers and Reef Dependent Species;
    • Oyster Reefs - Density, Acreage, Percent Live, Size Class;
    • Coastal Wetlands - Acreage, Species Composition.
  • Coordinates for each location must be provided in decimal degrees
  • Documentation (e.g., protocols, quality assurance documents, metadata) must be sufficient for users to assess and understand the program and all submitted data.
  • At least one contact must be designated as a program editor who will be responsible for maintaining the program page, uploading files, and answering questions related to the program from SEACAR staff.
  • No specific data format is required; however, submitted datasets must be formatted in a way that can be ingested into the database, and subsequent data uploads must maintain the same initial format (i.e., including formatting, column names, units of measure, etc.).
Instructions: Please complete and submit the following form to apply for a new monitoring program in the SEACAR Data Discovery Interface. Fields marked with are required. After submission, SEACAR staff will review your application and contact you.

Program Information

The full name of the program.
The organization or agency that manages/managed the program or conducts/conducted the work.
URL of website describing the program or organization responsible, as appropriate.
General focus of the program, which may include a summary of measured parameters.
Program start date. This is the earliest date any portion of a program began data collection, even if activities expanded or were contracted after this date.
Program end date. Either the year the program was terminated or the year of the expected end date if the time limit of activity is known.
Sampling frequency and schedule. If different parameters were measured on different schedules, select the most applicable option.
Sampling methods. If different parameters are measured using different methods, please include descriptions of each one.
Where the original data are housed, such as an online portal, organization server, specific report(s), etc. For STORET/WIN data, indicate the OrgID under which data were loaded; if your application is approved, you will also be required to upload an excel file of the StationIDs as they are named within STORET/WIN.
Is there an online portal?
Describe the geographical area covered by this monitoring program (e.g. Tampa Bay, Florida Keys, statewide).
