Summary
The Oyster Integrated Mapping and Monitoring Program (OIMMP) is funded by Florida’s State Wildlife Grants (SWG) Program in order to support the study of high priority coastal habitats and meet requirements of the State Wildlife Action Plan. OIMMP's goals include bringing together representatives from oyster mapping and monitoring programs across the State in order to increase communication, minimize duplicate efforts, and identify data gaps, needs, and priorities. Data products include a statewide technical report (https://myfwc.com/research/habitat/coastal-wetlands/projects/oimmp/ ), improvement of the statewide compilation of oyster maps “Oyster Beds in Florida” (http://geodata.myfwc.com/datasets/oyster-beds-in-florida ), and pilot mapping and monitoring projects.
Parameters
Location, reef type, reef height and slope, percent cover, number of clusters, reef thickness (highest and average), burial depth, oyster density and shell height, associated fauna.
Notes
Pilot monitoring projects in Tampa Bay (2017-2018) and the Big Bend (2021) followed Northeast Florida’s Oyster Condition Assessment Protocol (http://ocean.floridamarine.org/OIMMP/Resources/Walters%20et%20al%202016.pdf ), same protocol as ID_5017 (https://dev.seacar.waterinstitute.usf.edu/programs/details/5017 ).

Method
The OIMMP report provides a summary of status and mapping and monitoring data and is not a primary data source. Primary OIMMP data includes 2017-18 pilot program data for Tampa Bay and 2021 pilot data for the Big Bend. OIMMP also contributes original mapping data to Oyster Beds in Florida (FWC-FWRI GIS Data Layers 5059)
