Summary
The oyster growth project was begun in the spring of 2004 with the goals of 1) measuring the growth rate of oysters in Apalachicola Bay and 2) determining if there were differential growth rates between the two commercial oyster bars: Cat Point and Dry Bar.

Oysters transplanted from two oyster reefs to flow-through bags attached to pilings (two replicates from each reef) and shell height measurements (mm) made monthly until specimens died or became too overgrown for accurate measurements to be made.
