Notes

Topical maps to show wetlands and deepwater habitats, project and report trends using probabilisitic sampling. Habitat types excluded from mapping program because of limitations of imagery used - seagrasses or submerged aquatic vegetation that are found in the intertidal and subtidal zones of estuaries and near shore coastal waters, some deepwater reef communities (coral or tuberficid worm reefs). Also excluded = "farmed wetlands."

Application

To provide long-term trend information about specific changes and places and the overall status of wetlands in the United States and to provide an accurate record to assist in future restoration efforts.
