Summary

To determine the status and trends in water temperatures at reef depth at coral monitoring sites established in Biscayne National Park and Dry Tortugas National Park.

Notes

Of the 28 Florida stations with data, only 8 are considered active. At each station we try to maintain both a sensor 1 and sensor 2 for redundancy in case of failure and for QC. There are also Quality and Approval codes in the dataset with Quality Code 31 = Good and Approval Code 3 = Approved.

Application

To document long-term changes over time in marine communities in South Florida National Parks.

HOBO data loggers for water temperature in Dry Tortugas National Park, video transects, coral point count software

Discontinuity

2004-2008 data loggers only at Bird Key N and S increased to 18 stations in 2008 and these 18 stations included coral monitoring as well as temperature.
